THE MASSAGE PRACTICE


THE WELLNESS BASED PRACTICE

WELLNESS CUSTOM MASSAGE: All our treatments are customized to everyone’s individual needs. It is typically called a "mixed modality" massage. These sessions are 45, 60 and 90-minutes in length and are full-body sessions with a little more focus on some areas of tightness. These clients typically come in 1-2 times per month for overall wellness (maintenance). The mix modality session in our Wellness Practice combines mostly:

  • Swedish Techniques

  • Foot Reflexology Techniques

  • Neuromuscular Technique (NMT)

  • Sports Massage Techniques

  • Deep Tissue Components

  • Hot Stone/ Warm Bamboo*

  • Pre/Post- Natal

  • Lymphatic Drainage

  • Stretching


THE CONDITION BASED PRACTICE:

MEDICAL MASSAGE: These sessions are also customized to our client’s individual needs/condition. This is focused on a specific condition our clients are struggling with. These sessions are typically shorter and more frequent so we can keep up with and get a head of the dysfunction before it starts to have effect on other parts of the body. Additional modalities we use in these sessions are:

  • Pre/Post- Natal

  • Orthopedic Testing

  • Trigger Point Techniques

  • Lymphatic Drainage

  • Stretching/ROM Testing

  • Circulatory Technique

  • Postural Analysis

  • Gait Watch

  • Basic Vitals

  • Infrared Sauna for Detox

These condition-based sessions require an initial consult and detailed intake prior to treatment beginning so we can observe the progress as treatment ensues. Condition based work is typically, but not always, in conjunction with other on-going treatment by Physical Therapy, Chiropractic, Orthopedic and even Mental Health practitioners. Some of the conditions we treat are:

  • Accidental Injury (sports related, slip/trip, MVA whiplash, etc.)

  • Over Use Injury (Carpal Tunnel, TMJD, Tennis/Golfers Elbow, etc.)

  • Surgery (hip/knee replacement, rotator cuff repair, MCL/LCL repair, Edema, etc.)

  • Pregnancy

  • Auto-immune dysfunction (RA, Fibromyalgia, Lupus, etc.).

  • Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, etc.


THE YOGA PRACTICE

Our focus practice is Hatha Yoga. This is considered the “old system” that includes the practice of asanas (posturing) and pranayama (breath work). It also includes many different Yoga styles so everyone is sure to have an effective individualized experience.

  • Personal Private Classes

  • Group Private Classes (limited to 6)

  • Public Group Classes (limited to 6)

    • Monday's at 6pm

    • Saturday’s at 7am

    • Saturday's 9am-10am

Because we have an intimate space, we have a more personalized approach to all the work we do with our clients, this includes our Yoga practice. Our instructors can instruct on a more personal level than they can in a high profile and larger classes.

We also combine Yoga into our CONDITION BASED PRACTICE (see massage practice) when the need arises. Yoga can be used to increase range of motion, to practice breath techniques and to be more fluid in our bodies.


THE ENERGY HEALING PRACTICE

REIKI: is the foundation certification for our Energy Healers; however, their treatments are CUSTOMIZED to the client’s specific needs and they use their own methods in their healing work. Broken down in simple terms Energy Healing uses universal energy to stimulate the individual life force energy. If you are feeling very stressed, under the weather, depressed, anxious, etc., your energy is sluggish or in some cases may have actual blockages. If you are feeling happy, focused, and positive about life your energy is running optimally and regular maintenance work will help keep things balanced.

  • Reiki (Foundation)

  • Sound Vibration (tuning Forks)

  • Gemstone Vibration

  • Intuitive Awareness

  • Native American Shamanism Techniques

We also combine energy healing into our CONDITION BASED PRACTICE (see massage practice) when the need arises. Sometimes energy blockages can have a physical effect on the body that we are not aware of.


GUIDED MEDITATION PRACTICE

Mind·ful·ness /ˈmīn(d)f(ə)lnəs/ Noun:
1. the quality or state of being conscious or aware of something.
"their mindfulness of the wider cinematic tradition"
2. a mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, used as a therapeutic technique.

This class teaches you to train your mind to live more in the present moment. Living in the past and future only brings mental anguish and feelings of anxiety and depression. This is a guided class that focuses on breath work and visualization techniques. We offer:

  • Personal Private Classes

  • Group Private Classes (limited to 6)

  • Public Group Classes (limited to 6)

    • Monday's 7pm

    • Saturday’s at 8am

Because we have an intimate space, we have a more personalized approach to all the work we do with our clients, this includes our Meditative practices. Our instructors can instruct on a more personal level than they can in a high profile and larger classes.

We also combine Meditation into our CONDITION BASED PRACTICE (see massage practice) when the need arises. Meditation and mindfulness can be used to learn to live more presently and reduce the effects of anxiety and depression.
